Believe it or not, motorcycles are not only used on the racetracks, they also represent a very cost effective and fast means of transport. That is actually the very purpose motorcycles were invented for, in the first-place.

Modern street bikes will take you from point A to point B faster than any car could, managing to deliver the experience in a relative comfort too. Modern touring bikes are masterpieces of engineering, beyond doubt.

Contrary to cruisers, choppers and bobbers, these bikes feature a vast selection of “farkles”, different gadgets meant to make the ride as comfortable as possible. Heated grips are such “farkles”. Modern versions have a selection of sensors that turn the heat off in them when the biker is cruising along at low speeds and turn it up at higher speeds.

Satellite navigation systems are also useful gadgets, and believe me, they’ll come in awful handy, because when riding one of these babies, sticking to the main roads is the last thing you’ll want to do.

These touring bikes might not be as fast as sport bikes, and they may not attract as many stares from onlookers, but when it comes to riding over long distances (and I mean a few hundred miles) there’s nothing that can match wits with these bikes. They provide all the comfort of a car and the enjoyment that comes out of riding a two wheel vehicle. In that respect, they’re simply unbeatable.
