Pong, I’m sure that everyone remembers this game. The game was brought in to many houses in the early 70’s with the help of a game console. It was just great.
Since those years these game consoles went trough massive changes and in 1981 the Sinclair Spectrum appeared in the UK followed by the Commodore 64.
The advantage of these consoles was that all the experienced users could write their own games (in Basic language) and save it on audio tapes.
It was fun, until the big companies like Sega, Nintendo entered the market and the whole console business was changed. They introduced a new generation of graphics to the users. The next big jump was the appearance of the PC games like Doom, Wolfenstein and others, all these games re-wrote how we usually played games…from now on we could play against each other trough the Local Area Network option.
Ok…but where is the Flash in all of this? Well…to play Playstation or Xbox games you must own one of the consoles, but to play flash games you need only a PC, internet connection, a web browser and a flash player.
But everyone who uses Windows XP, has the flash player installed in his/her PC, in fact flash is there since Win98.
Nowadays the flash games played on the internet have much better graphics than the games emulated on those old game consoles back in 1980, but you still can find a lot of Tetris, BomberMan or PacMan clones.
You can play these games against other online players as well and I don’t think that there is a type of a game you can’t find it on the internet…
Flash games become very popular, no matter if you are at home or in you office…you can access these games from everywhere and you can have some great fun, just be careful that your boss isn’t around. |
